Melody Writing

A student may enter more than one composition and more than one class.
A separate entry form is required for each composition, along with the appropriate entry fee.
Manuscripts must be received by the Festival Office (Box 1533, Prince George, BC, V2L 4V5) no later than February 19, 2024.

Original Composition

Original compositions must be written on manuscript paper in black ink. Computer printouts are acceptable. Do not send original; send a clean, easy-to-read photocopy.
Each entry must be the original work of the individual whose name appears on the entry form.
Neither the name nor the age of the participant may appear on the manuscript.
The composer will retain all rights to the original work.

Ariane Jarosch, melody writing

Music has always been an integral and essential element in Ariane’s life. From early beginnings in violin Suzuki classes to choral singing and conducting and playing Principal flute in the PGSO, music has always been a focus.

Ariane received her Bachelor’s of Music in flute performance from the University of Victoria and has spent the majority of her life teaching and sharing her music passion with others. Ariane has studied with various very well-known flautists and choral conductors but feels that she has learned the most about playing, performing and learning from her students and singers.

Currently Ariane teaches flute at the Prince George Conservatory of Music, conducts the Prince George Cantata Singers and plays Principal flute in the Prince George Symphony Orchestra.
