Our History

The Prince George & District Music Festival was founded in 1951 to foster musical excellence in Northern BC. The past 58 years have seen the music festival grow in size and scope to include a total of over 1,200 participants annually in five disciplines.

Today, the Prince George & District Music Festival is Northern BC's premier music competition for young performers and amateurs. The festival is an important vehicle for performers to showcase their talents while gaining experience and obtaining valuable feedback from adjudicators.

We make every effort to update this site regularly during the course of the festival. Details for the next festival are posted to this site as they are confirmed. Competition results are also posted to the site, as well as Honours Performance participants, awards, and recommendations to the Provincial festival.
